Beatrice Couture Designs at Jacksonville Bridal Fantasy 2014

Now that introductions are over, let’s get down to business, and what is a better way to start than with telling you about our participation in Jacksonville’s Bridal Fantasy Show, August 24, 2014 at 12:30pm, located at the Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra.  Jacksonville’s Bridal Fantasy Show has been deemed the largest and most popular bridal planning event since 2001 and brings to the table over 125 different vendors, door prizes, a chance to win a honeymoon, and VIP services for attending brides.  So our being a part of this event is not only a great opportunity, it’s also a big deal!  Perhaps you have seen the advertising posters around Jacksonville for the event?  The flower crown headpiece on the poster is our very own piece.  How neat is that??

Also starting at 4:00pm there will be a grand runway show with beautiful brides, handsome grooms, sweet little flower girls, and dignified mothers-of-the-bride walking the runway. Beatrice Couture Design will have more than 50 different pieces being worn by the models on the runway, with each piece specifically hand-crafted for the event. These pieces will include all the wedding veils and headpieces, and the bridal sashes worn by the bride models.  Whew!  We have been very hard at work making these pieces in preparation for next Sunday.

If you are located in North Florida and are interested in attending the show, contact us through our FaceBook page for free tickets, we would love to send 3 or 4 tickets your way. If you already have plans and tickets to attend stop by our booth too, we would love to meet you and we promise that you’ll have lots to see!!!!

Welcome to Beatrice Couture Designs

Welcome to our blog and our first post for Beatrice Couture Designs!  Before getting started with some of the exciting things going on with Beatrice Couture Designs, we wanted you to get to know us. Here is our family picture from a family reunion two years ago. My husband (of 43 years) and I are surrounded by our four children, their spouses and our 12 grandchildren. Since this picture was taken we have added one more grandson to the mix, who is now eight months old. We are blessed beyond measure to have such a loving and large family!  “Ain’t nothin’ better!”

Personally, I have been involved in several different areas of design in the last forty years – from interior design to floral design, and now fashion design.  For 25 years prior to starting in the bridal fashion industry, I co-owned and co-operated a silk floral business in the Chicago area, working with interior designers and decorators, as well as our own clients.  In 2006 John and I moved to North Florida.  It was shortly thereafter, when our youngest daughter, Lenna (Upper right-hand corner), was getting married that I realized how much I enjoyed working with bridal accessories.  It was at that time, Lenna said, “Mom, you ought to start your own wedding accessory business.”  And so I did!  Since then, Lenna has joined me in the business, having grown up surrounded by and participating in many of my creative endeavors.  She has come into her own personal design style and is a real asset to our bridal accessory business, which has evolved into Beatrice Couture Designs!  The two of us are the sole designers, hand-making 98% of what we sell.

We have a wonderful partnership that modernizes vintage pieces and handmade creations. We specialize in custom, oftentimes one-of-a-kind headpieces, bridal veils, dress sashes, wedding garters, embellished vintage purses and cuff bracelets. Whatever you may be looking for to enhance your special day, we would love to have the honor of working with you.  Be sure to check our website regularly, and follow us on Facebook and Pinterest so as to stay up-to-date with all that is happening and being created here at Beatrice Couture Designs.

More to come, so stay tuned!
